Q & A 2010

Still working on the backlog of questions from last year. As soon as we get through a few more rounds, we'll put the Q&A form back up. To read past Q&A, please check out the 2008/2009 archive.

Q&A January 11, 2010

Q: What are some of your favorite things that fans and other people send you?
Joe Fusco

A:The letters and notes are what I enjoy the most. The fact that fans took time out to actually sit down and write to me, is amazing enough, considering no one writes on paper much anymore. And its what they say and the glimpses they give me into their lives and the fact that I have truly affected them in some way, that has made their life better. Well that just astounds me.

Q: Lewis, I recently saw an interview with you and you were lamenting the lack of groupies. I was wondering what qualifications one would have to have to fill the position. I don't have any former groupie experience but I'm a quick and enthusiastic learner and would like to apply for the job.
Ms. Lisa
St. Louis

A: I think its a very obvious answer and one that is too sexist for me to go into.

Q: Mr.Black how much of the news is real? and how much of it is bull shit?!
Joey Prisco
Roxbury, NJ

A: Most of the news is real, its the facts that are fucked up. You get the pictures and the stories, you just don't get any real facts. Something one can hold on to. And you know most news is real, because you can't make this shit up.

Q: Mr. Black I get such a kick out of all your performances about the political parties and other hilarious topics. What has been your favorite TV stand up special?
Jay Barron
Golf, IL

A: I really loved Red White and Screwed. But I would have to say and not to plug it, because I believe it, that Stark Raving Black is also a favorite. I guess will see if it stands the test of time. Not the real test of time, my test of time.

Q: I want to start off by saying that I am a huge fan of yours and I mean no harm by my question. You are an awesome comic!! Being a gay man, it's nice to hear your support for the gays (or at least neutrality). Anyways, I remember you doing a bit about bottled water on one of your albums and how we destroyed water in this country. However, on another performance you were doing, I saw that you had two bottles of water on stage with you. I know you have to drink water because you are talking a lot, but why don't you have a glass of water instead?
Brad Parks
Lee's Summit, MO

A: Quite simply, its easier to drink from bottled water on stage than a glass. I know that seems odd but true. And no one said I was consistent, I don't drink bottled water offstage, unless someone already bought it and handed it to me. Its also why I drink it on stage. They buy it. And I don't trust the plumbing in some of these theatres.
