In 2015, Lewis Black was proud to help sponsor the first Children of the Forest College Fund, with a goal of $25,000 per year to cover the entire cost of helping 11 kids through four years of college. Thanks to generous donations from YOU, we met that goal in 2015-2019.
We're reaching out to you again and asking you to assist not just the college students but hundreds of stateless children to gain life changing education and futures full of hope and opportunity. They will receive an education, gain a pathway to legal status in Thailand, and escape the dangers of living undocumented in the world.

Hi! I am 6 years old. I am learning to speak Thai very well at Children of the Forest school. One day I will be a teacher and help other little children like me. This is my favorite dress. Thank you for helping me go to school.

I am 7 years old and live in the jungle on the Thai-Burmese Border in a small bamboo house with my mum and sister. When Mum has time, she collects bamboo shoots to sell on the road side. I love school, especially the morning breakfast I receive at Children of the Forest school. One day I want to be a teacher.

I am 9 years old and I love to go fishing with my best friend. I live in the jungle on the Thai Burmese Border. My dad finds work cutting grass in plantations. He doesn’t have an Identity Card so he cannot work in town. I love going to school and one day I will have an Identity Card and I will be a soldier.

I am 7 years old and live mostly with my mum and younger sister in a small bamboo house in the jungle. I am studying in Grade 1 of Children of the Forest elementary school. I walk every morning for about 30 minutes to a main road and get picked up by the Children of the Forest truck to come to school. I dream of being a doctor to help sick children.

I am 6 years old and in my second year at Children of the Forest Free School for stateless children. I live with my mum and younger brother in a small shanty village. Some years ago my father left, but I am a strong little boy and help my mum. I am a very good football player and hope to one day be a professional player.

I am 6 years old and in Children of the Forest Kindergarten. When I was little, my mum and dad left looking for work but they never returned so I am living with my older brother and sister. I love coming to school and really appreciate the breakfast and lunch my school provides. I love to learn and hope to be a doctor one day.

Hello! I am 9 years old and this is my first year at school. I am excited to be going to school because for a long time I dreamed of this, but we lived too deep in the jungle. I live with my Mum and Dad and 2 brothers and 1 sister. When I finish school I am going to be a teacher and teach other little children in the jungle.
A MESSAGE FROM CHILDREN OF THE FOREST
Children of the Forest was established in 2005 in response to the desperate needs of Karen, Mon and Burmese refugee and migrant children in the Thai-Burmese border region in the Kanchanaburi province in Thailand. We provide protection, education, healthcare and opportunities to stateless children and mothers in this border region. We began 14 years ago with a handful of children and today assist over 1,000 children per day.
Sadly most of these children are orphaned, abandoned and undocumented. Without the protective services provided by COF, most would fall into child slavery or worse.
We are thrilled and grateful that Lewis Black and his fans have generously given their support over the years.
Please continue to watch this page for updates on the College Fund and the children who will be continuing their education. To learn about Children of the Forest’s many programs, please visit www.childrenoftheforest.org
We could not send these children to school without your generous support, so THANK YOU!
Children of the Forest is a 501(c)3 non profit organization. We are a small group of volunteers who donate their time and energies in support of Children of the Forest in Thailand. 100% of your donation goes directly to the services and protection of the children.
